A FREE online holiday social for SCBWI Members hosted by MD/DE/WV Illustrator Coordinator Mirka Hokkanen. Hop on zoom to meet fellow kidlit creators and chat about wins for 2024, and goals for 2025 (if you feel open to sharing), the winter conference, and ideas for events for next year.

About the event
Holiday Social
Come and chat with your fellow kidlit creators. We want to celebrate your wins from 2024 and talk about goals for 2025. We can chat about the upcoming Winter Conference, and ideas for programming for next year. Is there an agent, editor, creator, art director that you want to hear from? Our new chapter Illustrator Coordinator, Mirka Hokkanen, will be hosting.
Mirka Hokkanen
is the new Illustrator Coordinator for MD/DE/WV region of SCBWI. She is a neurodivergent published author and illustrator of picture books and graphic novels. Mirka is represented by Laurel Symonds at the KT Literary. In addition to being a mom of three and a military spouse, Mirka teaches on Skillshare, works as a printmaker, and if she ever has free time, she likes to hike outdoors, knit, and do all sorts of crafty things.
