Premium Membership or Preview Plan – What’s the Difference

All paying members are Premium members and receive full, exclusive access to all SCBWI content. Premium member profiles display banners indicating their membership category:

Associate (pre-published, seeking first-time publication),
Full (self-published or published outside of children’s books), or
PAL (the member’s work has been published by a traditional publisher of books or magazines).

All Premium members qualify for discounted registration rates for conferences, events, and other activities, including hundreds of programs hosted by SCBWI’s global network of regions. Premium members also have exclusive access to membership discounts, awards and grants, useful resources, and promotional opportunities.

Premium Membership Rates:

First-time Premium members join at the $99.00 USD price, and then you may renew annually at a one-time renewal price or at the auto-renewal price.
Post-secondary students 18 years and older may join or renew at the $25.00 USD price. Proof of current undergraduate or graduate-level enrollment must be presented during signup or renewal.
UPDATED STUDENT MEMBERSHIP CRITERIA AS OF JULY 8, 2024: Post-secondary students 18 years and older may join or renew their membership at the USD $25.00 price. You must reapply every year with a current semester course transcript. College or university IDs are no longer valid as identification. Driver licenses are not valid ID. Upload a scanned copy of your transcript when you register.
Residents of Least Developed Countries (the new title for Developing Nations) may join and renew at the $50.00 USD level. This United Nations list defines these locations.

Preview User Plan

Website users who register on scbwi.org but do not purchase an annual membership have limited access to public content only, meaning our podcast, our YouTube channel, select events, and our blog. Get a free sneak peek of all that the SCBWI community has to offer.
