Dinah will use several of her own titles (H is for Harlem, Ida B. Wells Marches for the Vote, and others) to introduce a larger discussion of the creation of nonfiction picture books. Attendees will also examine various subcategories including alphabet books, picture book biographies, and narrative nonfiction, as starting points to discuss strategies for conceptualizing writing unique, engaging books, whether informative or purely entertaining.
