Meet the Instructor
Katie Fitch is currently an Art Director at Scholastic. She has worked in the industry for over fifteen years and at several houses, including Penguin, HarperCollins, and Abrams. She studied graphic design in college, graduating with a BFA in visual communications. Day to day at Scholastic, she works on a range of formats including picture books, middle grade, graphic novels and some board books/novelty formats. Outside of work, she enjoys tennis, skiing, spending time with family, and reading to/with her six-year-old daughter and three-year-old son.
Key titles: "I Color Myself Different" and "We Are Free, You and Me" by Colin Kaepernick, Sofia Sanchez’s "You Are Loved" and "You Are Enough," and the "Lovely Day" picture book, "George Brown Class Clown" series, Bob Books series.
Which book helped you become a reader? "Miss Rumphius" by Barbara Cooney has always stuck with me. “You must do something to make the world more beautiful.”
