In a former life, David was the chief of the airport police in Grand Rapids with 30 years experience in law enforcement. After retiring, David went all in on his creative side. He has written a series of MG fantasy adventure books: Beneath and Beyond (a Midwest Book Review Bookwatch Selection), Through the Eyes of the Beast and The Heart of the Swarm. His newest release is a contemporary MG fiction entitled Ripley Robinson and the Worm Charmer, which is reviewer recommended by Kirkus Review, featured in their magazine and on their 35 great books worth discovering list. David’s reverse perspective paintings have been Grand Rapids ArtPrize (largest attended art competition in the world) popular finalists three times and a post prize Colors of Community popular vote first place twice.
