I began illustrating educational books in London after completing a Diploma in Illustration at Harrow School of Art.  I came to Australia in 1979 and illustrated fiction and non-fiction books for Macmillan Education, Thomas Nelson and Oxford University Press. I also co-wrote several non-fiction books for Macmillan and Thomas Nelson. I returned to England in 1989 where I took up painting, printmaking and teaching, and focused on my family. I've lived in South Australia since 2001. I have had children's poems published in School Magazine, and I have also had an adult poetry collection published. I am now writing picture books and middle grade books, and I'm beginning to put stories, poems and pictures together.
