A Night With Our Stars (ANWOS) is not a SCBWI event but we are including it here as it is a fabulous evening and many of our SCBWI WA members feature in the line-up. Run by the Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA) WA branch, West Australian authors and illustrators with a children's book published in the past 12 months are invited to present. Each speaker gets three minutes to wow the audience which is filled with librarians, teachers and book sellers. It's always an entertaining evening and a great opportunity to meet people in the industry and watch and learn how different creatives work the stage. More details and tickets here.

Making miniature 3D sculptures of characters can be really helpful for illustration projects. Choose a character you are developing and come and make a small model of your character using a mixture of professional and around-the house materials. This session will be part mini-workshop and part relaxed 'crafternoon' style illustrator catch up. Writers also welcome.

The Literature Centre and the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators Australia West, are thrilled to invite Western Australian women illustrators to showcase their work in an upcoming exhibition, Drawn by Her. This exciting, female-led exhibition will celebrate the incredible talent and diversity of women illustrators across WA.
If you’re a female-identifying illustrator based in WA, we’d love for you to submit your original illustrations, with or without process work, for a chance to be featured at the Moores Gallery from October 21st to November 4th, 2024.
