What are Peer Get-Togethers?
Our Peer Get-Together groups have a special focus. These get-togethers include BIPOC Talk, Illustrator Shop Talk, PAL Shop Talk, and Translator Shop Talk. These events are held online so that members from across our chapter can attend regardless of where they live. Don't miss out! Illustrator, PAL, and Translator Shop Talk Mailing Lists
It is not necessary to explicitly join a mailing list for these peer groups. Mailing lists for these groups are automatically created based on your SCBWI Profile information.
To ensure that you are included in our automated mailing lists for these groups, please visit your Member Home to ensure that your profile information includes the following information:
- Illustrator Shop Talk — your Fields of Interest must include "Illustrator"
- PAL Shop Talk — your SCBWI Profile must indicate that you are a PAL Member. PAL stands for "Published and Listed," indicating that a member's work has been published by a traditional publisher of books or magazines. A black flag in the upper lefthand corner of the profile image in your Member Home indicates your membership level: Associate (pre-published), Full (self-published), or PAL.
- Translator Shop Talk — your Fields of Interest must include "Translator"

Our bimonthly Illustrator Shop Talk, organized and hosted by Marie-Laure Couët, our Illustrator Coordinator, welcomes illustrators and illustration enthusiasts from across our region.
PAL Shop Talk
Our monthly PAL Get-Togethers, hosted by Marsha Skrypuch, our PAL Coordinator, are designed for PAL members interested in discussing life after publication.
Translator Shop Talk
Translator Shop Talks, organized and hosted by Kelly Zhang, our Translator Coordinator, welcomes translators, as well as those interested in learning more about translations, from across SCBWI regions. These meetings are held several times per year.
