Ten Things I Need to Write A Novel

Join us for an exciting session with Shirley-Anne McMillan - a YA author and the Children's Writing Fellow for Northern Ireland. Shirley-Anne's first published novel, A Good Hiding, appeared in the SCBWI Undiscovered Voices anthology in 2014 and was published in 2016. Her fourth YA novel, Grapefruit Moon, came out in 2023. All of Shirley-Anne's books are set in Northern Ireland, with themes including young LGBT expression, gender, violence, and religion. Learn what you need to write that novel
