Come join us for an editor first pages event for writers of Picture Books, Middle Grade and Young Adult. You will be given 10 minutes to share a pitch and the first 250 words of a manuscript. Then the editor will give their first impression and if there is time remaining the member can ask questions and also get feedback from the other members present. It’s a roundtable of 10 writers in each room with one editor. It’s a great opportunity to learn from other writers. Afterward you have the opportunity to submit to all four editors. The editors for our first pages are Michele McAvoy of The Little Press, Claire Tattersfield of Flamingo/Viking, Nicole Fiorica of Margaret K. McElderry Books-Simon and Schuster and Laura Kincaid of Holiday House. Once you are registered you will receive information on how to format and submit your first page and also the Zoom link to the event. November 2, 2024 9:00am to 11:30am Central Standard Time. We will not be issuing any refunds. If you can’t attend after you have registered you will still have the opportunity to submit to all four editors.
